STRAUSS is a very impressive man, fantastic captain, and I thought he was absolutely spot on with the Pietersen situation. Things are definitely looking up, once an opener really stands up (hopefully Hales can do it) and I still want a proper spinner, we look in a promising state. I think Taylor will eventually be number 3, but a couple of years of Compton there first I'd expect.

Smith will be back in August v the Kiwis, be interesting to see how far they slide before then.

S Africa have an awfully long tail. The opposite to England.

Could be 4-0 if Steyn misses out.

Good all-round from England ... Compton , Broad, Ali, Taylor, Finn all doing good things.

You have to worry about SA. DeVilliers and Steyn carrying them and both starting to creak under the pressure.

Well said, Wooders.

I'd give it to Broad for the first innings demolition and the handy runs.

Think Broad is MOTM,

First Innings wickets, and then the runs to get the lead.

Tbf, 2 years was exaggerating a touch...since strauss came in is more accurate

Depends how you read that 2-0 defeat, JIBBERS. I wasn't in the least bit disappointed to be honest. We played some excellent cricket and the series was much closer than the scoreline suggests. The rankings are a bit of a nonsense to be fair, and still include the demise of a once great side. Changes have been made and everything looks very positive. Everyone who has come in had been given a very fair crack at it, no ludicrous chopping and changing and we're heading in the right direction.

MOTM?

Tough one, pretty much a team performance.

Taking Trott to the West Indies instead of Lyth and not using Rashid there wasn't great selection.
Telling Cook he was a joke as a one day player was probably one of the best recent calls.
Picking Finn when he is fit is a no-brainer.

England win easily. SA looking in a bit of a state.

Going back on that, I'm not sure the selectors have got every call right to be honest. We're currently 5th in the world on the back of a 2-0 series loss, and our batting has been pathetic for a while. Take the Ashes out, and there hasn't exactly been loads to crow about.

Smith and HOLDING are just discussing the next test, and Holding reckons, with very good authority, that the selectors were looking to replace Finn with Anderson for the next test. Utter, utter madness. Obviously their hand will be forced now, but it's worrying how the deal with Finn.

Top stuff by Behrendorf
Sends Gayle back and flicks out a right hand to caught & bowl White.
2/14 off 4 overs with Melbourne 100/2 off 12
Should definitely be in Aust t20 WC team.
